The Point of it All :)

I was born a dreamer….  There has always been a fire inside…  A passion for life, music, Word, love, and helping people.

I was born in Columbia, SC in 1985.  Being exposed to music and choirs at a very young age, I developed a passion for singing and directing. In an effort to move forward musically, my parents enrolled me in piano lessons. I took lessons for a few years, and once I got to Jr. High School I signed up for chorus, and the rest is in the medley.

My mommy, who is a pastor and was a musician at the time, would often line my sisters and I up in the living room to sing.  Elder Zanders would play, and the girls would sing, everyone had a solo.  I could still read music, but singing took front seat.  Mom always shares the stories of how, as a toddler, I would attend rehearsals with her and direct the choir.  She said that I would direct from the pews and insist that the choir members ‘sing’!!  I’ve served as a member of several church choirs as mom traveled. Throughout middle and high school I had several solo opportunities, and was selected to participate in the SSA All State Women’s Choir my Junior and Senior Years.

Several years of dedication to vocal ministry have afforded me countless opportunities to minister with the Harold Brooker Ensemble, Kenny Curry & Nu Spirit, and to serve as Praise and Worship Leader at Freedom Temple Ministries.  I have had the opportunity to appear on BET’s ‘Bobby Jones’ Gospel’ and to back several Gospel artists to include, Jonathan Nelson, Tedd Winn, Earnest Pugh, and Beverly Crawford.  All these blessings come from GOD!  I continue to minister through song, and has recently accepted my call into evangelical ministry. I am preparing to pursue further studies and seek ordination as a minister of the Gospel.   I truly give God ALL the glory and honor for continuing to knock.  I thank God for giving me parents who truly want the best for me and my siblings, and who support us through all of life’s turns and challenges.

Although my blog isn’t completely dedicated to my music ministry, I felt it was very important to share a piece of who I am…. a nobody, trying to tell everybody… about somebody who can save ANYBODY.  The views shared are reflective of what I experience daily.  As a sinner, saved by grace, it is important to note that Christianity does not completely exempt one from life’s ups and downs.  As an ordinary person seeking the EXTRAordinary from God, I want to provide an honest and transparent look at the things I experience.  I look for God in EVERYTHING, so hopefully you’ll be blessed by my ‘yes’.
